Horriblesubs tend to be ugly video/audiowise.
They also made a couple of little TL mistakes, wrote Perrine's name wrong and were generally inferior to to the fixed script Underwater used...

Pretty sure it was episode 6 that everyone was all up in arms about. But like you, I can't remember exactly what the mistake was.

IIRC the (inaccurate) translation made Eila sound kinda bitchy towards Sanya, when that was not what happened at all. There was much raging towards Eila from fans, until people figured out the correct translation.

I checked some streaming site (which of course has the wrong translation) to quickly check it, these were the mistakes I noticed when I skipped through the episode
11: 45 - "No, she was terrible" implying she was talking about Perrine being terrible, making Eila look very ungrateful. She really said something along the lines "No, it's impossible"
12:40 - "You're an idiot, Sanya" Sanya did call Eila stupid, but Eila called her obstinate or dense, not idiot.
22:08 - "No, I'm sorry, but we have to return" this was said by Sanya, and it made Eila seem extra needy, like Eila was the one insisting that they should go over the Ural, when she was just saying that if Sanya wants to go she'll follow. What Sanya really said was "No, I'm sorry, but we two now have a place where we can return" or something.

I don't have the underwater subs or any subs for that matter, so I don't know if these are corrected in them, but I remember that these were the places people raged about.

So that "I'm sorry" wasn't to say "I'm sorry Eila but we can't go" it was more like "I'm sorry Eila for slightly suggesting leaving right now or in the near future"
